Night had fallen in River City, and outside a five-star hotel, a white Audi came to a slow stop. The rear door swung open, and a young woman, clearly inebriated, stepped out.

Lisa Lin, unsteady on her feet, was guided by her friend Sarah Shen, who rolled down the car window. "Your room card is in your bag. Have the hotel staff take you up once youre inside," Sarah said with a worried expression, having received a call about her childs sudden fever.

With urgency in her heart, Sarah couldnt accompany Lisa to her room. Lisa, waving her bag, reassured Sarah and staggered into the hotel.

Watching Lisa disappear inside, Sarah backed up the car and sped away.

Lisa declined the hotel staffs offer to escort her and entered the elevator alone. She muttered the room number, "1102, 1102...", as she searched for her room, eventually stopping in front of a door.

Satisfied that she had found the correct one, she swiped her card, but the door opened on its own. Too drunk to wonder why, Lisa entered the room, kicked off her heels, and collapsed onto the bed, quickly succumbing to sleep.

Entering and inserting the key card, Mason headed inside, untangling his tie, when he noticed a woman in a red dress on his bed. His brow furrowed in anger, assuming it was another trick by his business partners.

Approaching swiftly, he yanked the woman off the bed, causing Lisa to jolt awake on the floor, her bottom smarting from the impact. Her eyes, initially narrow, widened in recognition when they landed on the familiar belt she had gifted him from Fragrant Harbor.

Lisa reached for his pant leg, her voice trembling with hurt and accusation, "Tell me, what is it about me thats not good enough?"

Her plea was soft and laced with sorrow. Mason, intending to avoid her touch, found himself a step too slow as she clutched his pant leg.

"I said, youve mistaken me for someone else. Now, leave my room immediately," he commanded in a deep, cold voice.

Ignoring him, Lisa shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "You once said I was the love of your life," she sobbed, her words catching on a wave of emotion.

Masons patience wore thin. He freed himself from her grip and reached for the hotel phone to call security, but before he could lift the receiver, he was embraced from behind.

"Isnt this what youve always wanted? Ill give it to you now," Lisa whispered, her actions driven by a desperate attempt to reclaim her lost love.

The room fell silent, the sound of a zipper lowering the only noise that followed.

Masons restraint frayed as he spun around, intending to stop her, but Lisa was too eager. In the moment he turned, she had already shed her dress, her pale skin nearly burning his eyes, causing his breath to hitch.
