Capital City, the bustling metropolis of Northern Chill, never sleeps. According to the common folk, the streets are paved with gold and filled with merriment.

Leaning casually against an alley corner, June Sullivan idly cracked sunflower seeds, her mind wandering. She had finally shaken off her entourage and was now seeking some mischief to live up to her infamous title of the Ministers offspring.

Her father, Martin Sullivan, was the Chancellor, second only to the Emperor himself. He had been instrumental in bringing the current Emperor to power, and his influence was so vast that it was said he could.

However, despite his power, Martins family was not blessed with many children. In his fifty years, with a harem of wives and concubines, only his deceased first wife had borne him a child—June Sullivan herself. The rest of the women in his household had not even produced a single heir.

The Sullivan estate needed a male heir, and so, the ruthless Minister had taken it upon himself to determine Junes gender.

“Bah!” June spat out a sunflower seed shell, her gaze lingering on the graceful young ladies on the street with increasing discontent. She approached and intercepted a young lady.

A pretty young man, with skin as white as jade, yet shorter in stature. Despite being a man, he had a pair of fox eyes that always carried a hint of mischief, making the young ladies hearts race.

"Hey there, little sister..." June reached out and touched the young ladys face. "Tsk, tsk, tsk, your skin is as smooth as a peeled egg. How about having some fun with me?"

The young lady, being unmarried, blushed and tearfully dodged away.

This躲闪 only piqued Junes interest. "Hey, hey, dont go..."

"How dare you!" A young scholar in white suddenly leaped out, pointing at June and scolding, "In broad daylight, under the Emperors nose, you dare to harass innocent women? Do you have any regard for the law?"

Junes brow twitched. When did Capital City get such a meddler?

"Madman? Is he calling me?" June pointed at herself.

The scholar indignantly replied, "Im calling you, you..."

Before he could finish, June threw a punch.

The scholar, frail and caught off guard, stumbled and fell into a nearby noodle stall, knocking over the table and causing panic among the crowd.

June grabbed the scholars collar, pinning him to the ground, ready to continue the beating.

But then her wrist was seized, "This broth..."

"Brother, my ass!" Without looking, June turned and threw another punch.

A muffled thud was followed by a piercing scream, "Aaaah, my lord!"

The one who fell was a young man, around Junes age, but his attire... a white jade crown embedded with gold, high-quality silk embroidered with gold edges, a golden jade belt with jade pendants, and beneath his robe, a glimpse of black boots with gold thread embroidery of dragons.

Junes brow furrowed, indicating extreme wealth and nobility.

Realizing this, June turned and ran.

"Catch him, catch him!" Shrill shouts echoed behind her.

She knew every corner of Capital City like the back of her hand.

Wanted to catch her?

No way!

Despite her slender figure, she was swift as the wind, disappearing in the blink of an eye. However, she dared not return home just yet. She ran around Capital City twice, only slipping back into the Sullivan Mansion as the sun set in the evening.

At the back door of the Sullivan Mansion, June quickly crouched down and wriggled through the dog hole.

Suddenly, a pair of black boots stood right in front of her.

Junes heart skipped a beat, and she grumbled through clenched teeth, "That damned Windley, he sold me out!"

Only she and her personal servant knew about this dog hole; if not for his betrayal, how could her father have caught her?

But this was for the best. The more trouble she caused, the more likely her father was to send her away from Capital City, back to her hometown of Sunny County, where she would truly be free.

Just thinking about it made her excited.

Lifting her head, all froze on Junes lips.

"Why are you here?!"
