Double Bossed

In the midst of a Gothic church surrounded by rose bushes, with a vast lawn at its back, a grand wedding was taking place on a midsummer day in June. White drapes, colorful balloons, and golden sunlight filled the air...

Getting married at Crystal Chapel is every womans dream. The guests were seated, but as the time approached, the bride was nowhere to be found.

In the back dressing room, a splendidly dressed middle-aged woman tentatively asked, "Jason, do you know where she is?"

The man addressed, with half-closed eyes, sat in front of a dressing mirror, twirling a silver ring on his index finger. Dressed in a white suit with a boutonniere that read "Groom," Jason Lowe, with the surname Lowe, responded to his mothers question with an indifferent, "How should I know?"

Wendy He approached and said, "I suspect this is a trick you two have played. I know you dont want to get married, but you must consider the bigger picture. Call Yvonne and lets discuss whatever issues we have after the wedding."

Jasons voice was deep, "Discuss? Whats there to discuss after were married?"

Howard Lowe, upon hearing this, stood up with an angry expression and a stern tone, "This wedding will happen today, even if we have to find another woman without Yvonne Ye!"

"Sir..."

As Howard stormed out, Wendy followed.

When they left, no one noticed the girl lurking behind the wall.

Jason sat alone, feeling the peace that came with solitude.

This marriage was a farce, and though he couldnt stop it from happening, he could decide how to end it.

Hearing a slight noise by the door, Jason didnt turn his head but saw from the mirror that the door was pushed open a crack, revealing half of a girls face.

The girls gaze met his in the mirror, and with an awkward "hehe" smile, she pushed the door open and walked in.

Jason turned his chair, legs crossed casually, and looked at the girl with an emotionless expression.

The girl broke the silence, "I heard everything outside just now."

"Hmm?" was all he responded, his gaze silently asking, "So what?"

The girl took a deep breath and, with a determined look, blurted out, "Lets continue the wedding, Ill marry you!"

Before Jason could respond, she introduced herself, "My name is Star Song, as in the Song from Classic Poems, no bad habits, I understand music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, speak five languages, and can cook a bit."

Jason was taken aback, staring at the girl for a few seconds before asking, "High school student?"

Star frowned, holding up two fingers, "Sophomore in college!"

Jason, "Only twenty?"

The girl retorted with dissatisfaction, "Im not that young!"

As she finished, Jasons gaze dropped to her chest, "Youre not that big either."

Stars face turned red, and she instinctively puffed out her chest, then thought to herself, So the man she had a crush on was this kind of person!

"Why are you in such a hurry to get married at twenty?" Jason asked.

Star stammered, "My family is pressuring me to get married! They want to marry me off to an old man! Id rather marry you, at least... at least youre quite handsome!"

Jason chuckled, noticing Stars face turning even redder.

Fearing she might miss this rare opportunity, Star hurriedly added, "Anyway, you dont want to get married, and neither do I. Lets just help each other out. After were married, I wont disturb your life. Im very independent and not clingy, and I wont take any of your property. If youre worried, we can make a written agreement right now!"

Without responding, Jason took out his phone from his pocket, dialed a number, and walked towards the window.

Star wasnt sure what he meant, was he going to do it or not?

She looked down at her chest, wondering if he was瀚屽純 her small breasts.

As she caught up to try to advocate for herself again, Jason hung up the phone.

Turning his head and seeing her standing behind him, Jason was slightly stunned before saying, "Wait here, the stylist will be right with you."

Star: "Huh?"

Jason looked at his wristwatch, "You have half an hour left."

With that, Jason walked straight out.

Star stood in the dressing room, realizing belatedly that she had "proposed" successfully?
