When Victor Gu returned home, I had just put down the phone.

Barely two seconds passed when there was a knock on the door.

It was the housekeeper, Auntie Zhou.

In his arms was a beautiful woman with long hair, her fair back and slender arms on display, a vivid green peacock tattooed on her back.

As I entered, she was playfully putting a lit cigarette into Victors mouth.

Victor took a hold of the filter, turned his head, his slender phoenix eyes narrowing in the smoke as he coldly regarded me.

"Husband..." I wrung my fingers, this was the first time in my life I was begging anyone, let alone him, "I want to ask for your help. My fathers company has run into trouble."

Victor closed his eyes and said nothing.

The woman looked at me, her delicate eyes filled with distinct contempt.

I continued, "My father needs 500 million for working capital. I know you have it. Of course, we wont make you invest without return... You know, our family has never treated you poorly."

Whether it was when Victors company faced a significant crisis or after our marriage, my father had always helped him wholeheartedly.

Victor finally spoke, "Get out."

As I was speaking, he suddenly grabbed the crystal ashtray from the bedside table and threw it at me.

"Get out."

He repeated it.

I held my breath.

After a while, gritting my teeth, I knelt on the ground.
