Susan Book opened her eyes, her forehead hitting the corner of the table, leaving a bruise.

It was fine if the third son was good at studying; they could bask in his glory once he achieved academic success. But this third daughter-in-law looked like a (demon), unable to do heavy work and just adding another mouth to feed.
