I will never be yours

Inside a dimly lit luxurious villa, a man lounges lazily against a sofa, casually swirling the wine in his glass. As the liquid catches the light, it reflects the image of a lovely girl. His cold lips curl into a playful smirk, and his voice is indifferent as he speaks,

Suddenly, a youth draped in a black cloak materializes like a specter.

Floating in the air, the boy is pale, with an exquisitely beautiful face that lacks any human warmth.

"Have you found the detailed information on the girl I asked you to look into?"

The boy respectfully bows to the man, "My lord, her name is Brooke Creek, she is 55" tall and weighs 99 pounds, lives alone, is timid and cautious, a first-year psychology major at Cloud University, and will turn of age in three days..."

Pausing, the boy continues, "The Book of Life only states that she will die at 23, but the cause and the exact date are unknown, and any further details... are listed as the highest secret, accessible only by Mr. Soo. I cannot find out more."

"Really?" The man raises an eyebrow, intrigued that an ordinary humans file would be the supreme secret in The Death Realm.

Brooke Creek? Hmm, interesting.

The man drains his glass, casually pats his black robe, and stands up respectfully retreats.

His dark eyes narrow as he gazes out the window, "Three days, of age, huh?" With that, he vanishes from the spot, leaving behind a black piece of paper that slowly drifts down from the table. The moonlight reveals the words on the paper:

Brooke Creek, Supreme Secret of the Death Realm, Threat Level, Unknown!

At Cloud University in Kingston City, first-year students are welcoming the annual costume ball prepared by the school for the freshmen, grand and entertaining. Everyone is in high spirits, except for...

"Brooke Creek, come out and play, dont hide there!" The handsome class monitor spots a thin girl hugging her head in the corner and approaches to pat her.

Brooke shrinks her shoulders, her bright eyes blinking, an innocent look thats quite endearing. Her lovely, small cheeks are unusually pale. She weakly raises her head, not looking at the monitor, but glancing at a dark shadow next to him, invisible to others, but not to her!

Brooke forces an awkward smile, quickly gets up, and retreats to the other side, leaving the monitor to scratch his head in confusion and walk away.

Behind a pillar, Brooke peeks out, seeing a dark figure perched on the monitors shoulder, seemingly smirking at her, which is very eerie!

She immediately hides again, trembling as she crouches on the ground, wondering why shes seeing so many shadows today.

Although shes always been able to see the shadows that others cant, never has a day been like today, with such frequent appearances around her!

"Hi, Brooke Creek!" A classmate approaches and pats her shoulder, but Brooke flinches backward, unable to recall the names of the smiling faces around her.

"Brooke Creek, the party is starting, put on your mask!"

Brooke looks up, the wall clock points straight to midnight!

Amidst , Brooke stands out, shrinking into the corner, inevitably becoming the subject of whispers and several senior students who try to chat her up, all of whom are rejected by Brooke.

She suddenly spots a guy in a princes mask among the crowd; although his behavior seems normal, Brooke just feels that something is off about him. As for what, she cant quite put her finger on it.

Her gaze fixates on the guy, and he suddenly turns his head, meeting her eyes! Brooke is startled to see him smile at her with a meaningful smile, then he parts the crowd, looks at her once more, and leaves through the back door.

Although somewhat scared, Brooke feels an inexplicable urge to follow him and find out more.

Brooke grits her teeth, finally steps forward, and heads for the back door.

Following the strange guy, she unknowingly moves away from the cafeteria into the dark woods behind the school, where the guy disappears with a flash.

In the pitch black night, with no moonlight, Brooke regrets being in the woods, which exude an eerie coldness that her sensitive body finds uncomfortable.

"Finally found you!" A group of thuggish-looking ruffians appears from the woods, approaching her.

"You cant run!" The yellow-haired boss grabs Brookes collar, his face showing a bloodthirsty expression.

Brooke doesnt understand what theyre talking about and frowns slightly, about to resist, but when she looks up, she sees something on the yellow-haired bosss back, and her pupils contract sharply!

A deep, dark, ferocious monster face, with eyeballs bulging, blood around its mouth, half of its body overlapping with the yellow-haired ruffians, only its head perched on his shoulder, ferociously opening its mouth and clawing at Brooke!

Whats going on?!

Brookes face turns pale with fear, and she falls to the ground, rubbing her eyes hard. Where did this monster come from? How can she suddenly see such things?!

At this moment, a gust of wind blows, and the guy with the princes mask from the party slowly emerges from behind a tree.

Upon seeing the masked guy, the monster on the yellow-haired ruffians shoulder shrinks down, seemingly afraid of him. The gathered ruffians also back away.

The guy grins warmly, but Brooke feels petrified because she sees an even larger, terrifying ghost emerging from him, opening a bloody maw and swallowing the yellow-haired ruffian whole!

Brooke is stunned, watching him devour the wailing ruffians, then licking his huge tongue that trails outside his mouth.

"Rare physique, rare physique, if I eat you, my power will increase significantly!"

The monster speaks in a language Brooke doesnt understand, closing in on her. At this moment, Brookes limbs are stiff, and she cant even scream, struggling but unable to stand up, only able to watch as the massive monsters mouth opens wide in front of her, biting down on her head!
