"Hey, sister-in-law, whats this little drama about, running away from home?" Terry Hawkings sarcastic voice followed closely as Rachel Ruan descended the stairs with her suitcase.

Rachel ignored her, casting a mere glance in her direction before continuing downstairs with her luggage.

Coincidentally, upon reaching the first floor, she encountered Sean Hawkings mother, Lynne Lin, who looked down on her as usual. "Early in the morning, where are you going with that suitcase?"

Having been in a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship for three years, Rachel was well aware that this was a prelude to Lynnes usual berating.
